Thanks so much for having this blog. I really have been torn between choosing a career in medicine and choosing to be a stay at home mom when I have children. I went to bed last night devasted by the fact that I will have to put my career on hold to have children, be a mom, wife, ect. I prayed asking God to show me what is His will for my life and bam! Here I land on this blog. This morning. Talk about quick response! Both my husband and I are preparing for medical school. I am 28 and married just under two years... I was really considering a career as a doctor vs a husband and children. Husband can go.....a spirit obviously not of God. After reading this blog I am really rethinking that path and considering if this desire is God's or mine. This blog has allowed me too see what my life might look like 10 years from now, and you touched on so many important issues. I am thankful to have been led to this blog. Thanks again.

Are we becoming a society without a conscience? There is a strong trend in this direction. Look at this blog http://livegenerously.wordpress.com/2010/03/10/how-should-christians-die/ by a young seminary student who suggests that if you are "old and the doctor says you are dying" give up your right to medical care and medical funding so that it goes to the young. It's interesting how costs (money) has been one of the repeated arguments for the health care bill. This has been the key argument not conscience. Politically correctness is slowly replacing conscience. What I find interesting is how nations that have adopted universal health care are now running out of money for research and care. Up until now the majority of medical research in this country has been funded by private industry not government. It is amazing how quickly individual rights of the poor, weak, unborn, and political incorrect will disappear with the stroke of a pen and the lack of conscience. I'm afraid that as long as Judio-Christian core values are removed and replaced we will end up with nation (society} without a conscience.

That is so sad! I've also heard of people dying before they could have them implanted, and their embryos being left frozen indefinitly. It's a troubling situation.

I have a case right now where husband has left wife and young child for another woman. They have six embryos in storage. Thorny situation. She wants them, will pay for them, will cut him free of responsibility. He says "no." Shame. C

Hi Sarah

Happy New Year to you! I trust you are having an enjoyable day. My name is Todd Stepp and I work for BooksChristian.com, here in Franklin, TN. We are a Christian owned & operated company that sells over 200,000 Christian products.

I have homemakermd.com/ and have noticed that you post book reviews on your blog. I wanted to see if you would be interested in partnering with us, enabling visitors to your blog to purchase books that you review, as well as other books that you may suggest to them (books of the day etc.). In return we would pay you 9% on every sale made. There is very little work that would need to be done on your end, as we provide all the tools to create links and codes that you can post on your blog.

I would love to discuss this further with you at your earliest convenience. I look forward to hearing from you!

Regards,

Todd Stepp
